About the Race
What better way to kick off your Labor Day weekend than getting out for some family-friendly competition (for those who want to be competitive) in downtown Rockford.
RAMP and OrthoIllinois are partnering to offer the 5th Annual 3K Walk/Wheel, 5K Run, 1/2 Marathon, and a Kids Fun Run! The four events take place in the morning on Saturday, September 2nd. All proceeds from these events will go directly to RAMP.
We plan to put on an awesome event for our runners, walkers, and wheelers while working to raise funds to support RAMP, a local non-profit organization that provides services and advocacy that assist individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible.
Thank you for helping us make our event better!
We made these improvements to our event based on your feedback…
• Added a route map to the website
• More water stations with larger cups and volunteers handing out the water
• Volunteers will share their mile marker along the route
• Posted finish times
• Sports drink for the half-marathon turnaround
• More timely award presentations
Participants begin at the corner of Market & Water Streets and head north along the bike path. Runners will cross the river at Riverside Blvd, and then continue on the west side of the river out to Sportscore where the turnaround will be.
Join us for a beautiful run along the Rock River. This race will turn around at the halfway point, and head back along the same path.
The annual RAMP 3K Walk/Wheel-A-Thon is a great opportunity to get out and participate in a family-friendly event. Register and pay the event fee to be guaranteed a t-shirt the day of the event. For those used to the traditional wheel-a-thon who are interested in fundraising for RAMP please visit, http://give.classy.org/runrockford
Calling all little tykes, aspiring runners, and crazy, energy-filled, bundles of joy for a quarter mile near the City Market Pavilion. Last year’s group of ambitious youngsters almost knocked over our cameraman He was fine, and so were the kids.
If you would like to come out and help with the race please register for free here. This way we will have all of your contact information to better help coordinate and connect with our volunteers.
